Meet OPP Intern Tasha Reiter

A new school year means new students. And more specifically to OPP, new student interns.

You may have recognized some new faces around the gym the last couple of weeks and we'd like to introduce to you some of our interns.

Today we'd like you to meet Tasha Reiter.

Hello everyone!

My name is Tasha and I am from the small town of Picture Butte located just outside of Lethbridge, AB. I grew up a figure skater and shifted my focus towards basketball in high school. My off-seasons were spent playing volleyball and softball, as well as travelling to the mountains to ski with my family. I am from a very large family consisting of mostly boys, who instilled a competitive attitude in me at a very young age. I have 4 nieces/nephews who I adore, they are very busy and always entertaining.

Currently I am in my fourth year of a Bachelor of Human Kinetics at UBCO with a specialization in clinical exercise physiology. University classes which particularly peak my interest are Pathology & Prescription, Physiology, and Nutrition. My goal is to become a Physiotherapist with a focus in Cardio-Oncology, and one day have a clinic of my own.

Having the opportunity to intern at OPP has truly been one of the best and biggest learning experiences. I enjoy meeting all the clients who bring such high energy into the gym. The community here is unmatched. I have learned so much in regards to exercise prescription as well as the importance of surrounding yourself with people who push you to be your best. I'm looking forward to continuing to get to know all of you as well as seeing the continued progress in the gym!

Favourite travel spot: I loved the Philippines!

Workout song/music type: I like training to rap, especially Tyga. Outside the gym I love country.

Favourite lift: Back squat.

Last show you binged: Manifest.

Thank you Tasha!

As I business owner I've been impressed the way Tasha uses her time well. This could be cleaning the gym during down-times, doing some admin work on the computer or taking a stab at programming. And based on the questions she's asking and the books she's reading on her own time, I have no doubt she'll have a clinic of her own one day.

Good luck Tasha! And welcome aboard!
